It is not permissible to mishandle the Torah and the Gospel because they still contain something of the words of Allah, and because they contain some of the names and attributes of Allah.

1- There is nothing wrong with buying items on Black Friday and taking advantage of the discounts and deals that are offered, even if this is connected to Thanksgiving or follows it, or these discounts are offered for people to buy Christmas gifts, so long as the purchaser buys permissible things and does not buy things for the purpose of celebrating Christmas, such as gifts and other things. 2- Muslim shop owners should not single out Black Friday for reducing prices because it involves imitating and resembling the disbelievers.

Islam is the only religion in the sight of Allah. It is the religion that was revealed to all of the prophets, including Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Islam is based on the belief in Allah, and the submission to His will.

1- It is permissible for the supplicant to ask of his Lord by virtue of the Quran, because that comes under the heading of seeking to draw close to Allah by virtue of one of His attributes. 2- The most correct scholarly view is that it is prohibited to seek to draw close to Allah and ask of Him (Tawassul) by virtue of the Prophet. 3- Seeking to draw close to Allah by virtue of created beings comes under the heading of reprehensible innovation, and is objectionable according to what is commonly known among people and on the basis of the wording itself. 4- Seeking to draw close to Allah by virtue of the trumpet blast, and the progeny of Nuh, and the caliphate of As-Siddiq, and the courage of ‘Ali, and so on – is something that came about as a result of the supplicant’s attempt to be poetic and make things rhyme [in Arabic], without thinking about the meaning.

Sequence of events on the Day of Resurrection: 1- When the people are resurrected and rise from their graves, they will go to the land of gathering. 2- When they have stood for a long time, Allah will first bring forth for His Prophet his cistern to which people will come. 3- Then the people will stand for a long time, then will come the great intercession – the intercession of the Prophet who will ask Allah to hasten the reckoning for all people. 4- After that will come the examination of deeds. 5- Then after the examination will come the reckoning. 6- After the first reckoning, the records of deeds will fly [to the people]. 7- Then after the reading of the records, there will be a further reckoning to leave no room for excuses and establish proof by reading what is in the records. 8- Then after that the balance will be set up, and the things that we have mentioned will be weighed. 9- Then after the balance, people may be divided into groups and categories, with people of similar calibre being grouped together. 10- Then after that, Allah will cause darkness to prevail just before people reach Hell – we seek refuge with Allah. 11- Then the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) will come first, and will be standing on the Sirat. 12- The first to enter Paradise, after the Prophet will be the poor among the Muhajirun and the poor among the Ansar, then the poor among the Ummah.

It is obligatory to believe in the names and attributes that Allah has affirmed for Himself and what His Messenger has affirmed of that, without asking how, likening Him to His creation, distorting the meaning or denying any of it.

The awliya’ of Allah are people of faith and piety who are constantly aware that Allah is watching them in all their affairs, so they adhere to His commands and heed His prohibitions. The degree of wilayah varies according to a person’s faith and fear of Allah. Wilayah is a divinely granted status that begins in the heart with love and veneration of Allah and is reflected in a person’s behavior. Wilayah does not mean that a person can do haram deeds or omit obligatory duties. The best of the ‘awliya’’ of Allah are the messengers and prophets, then the Companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), then those who came after them, then those who came after them. We do not know that the phrase “ashab Allah (friends of Allah)” was given to any of them.

There is nothing wrong with you making Du`a for a Christian doctor by saying: May Allah bless you, may Allah honour you – intending thereby to ask Allah to bless her and honour her with Islam.

Ahl As-Sunnah unanimously agreed that faith is words and deeds, or verbal affirmation, belief in the heart and physical actions. The basis for this scholarly consensus is many texts of the Quran and Sunnah which indicate that words and deeds are part of faith.

The reckoning on the Day of Resurrection will be of two types: 1- the presentation of deeds which will be only for the believer; 2- the reckoning in which they will be thoroughly examined. This is the reckoning of Allah for the disbelievers and whomever He will of the sinners among those who affirmed His Oneness.
