1. In the case of unrestricted Dhikr, there is no specific number of times for repeating phrases; rather the individual may remember his Lord as much as a Muslim is able to. 2. In the case of restricted Dhikr, the basic principle is that the individual should adhere to what has been narrated in the religious Hadiths in terms of wording and number of repetitions, except when the text indicates that he may add to what is mentioned in the Hadith. In that case, if a Muslim adds more than one hundred, there is nothing wrong with that.

• The best and most complete phrase to use when giving the greeting of Salam is: “As-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu” and the best phrase to use when returning the greeting is: “Wa `alaykum As-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.” • With regard to adding ‘wa maghfiratuhu’, it is mentioned in some Hadiths with regard to initiating the greeting and returning it, but these reports are not sound.

How to be courageous in Islam • Be strong in faith and remain steadfast therein. • Study the biographies of the brave and courageous among the heroes of Islam. • Have the courage to speak the truth and tell others about it. • Have the courage to denounce evil and forbid it. • Maintain self-control. • Respect Islamic commandments. • Respect the limits set by Allah. • Show courage in situations in which courage is required. • Support the one who has been wronged, and strive to put a stop to the mistreatment to which he is being subjected.

Muslim businessmen can develop trust in Allah by: • Believing that Allah has already allocated provision to people, and He decreed that from eternity. • Cutting off any relationship between him and anyone other than Allah. • Being attached to Allah while taking appropriate measures and striving to earn a living. • Thinking positively of Allah and turning to Him in supplication, beseeching and asking of Him.

What is required of the Muslim is not to despair of mercy and not to feel safe from punishment; rather they should be in a state between hope and fear, because Allah has condemned those who feel safe from punishment and has condemned those who despair of His mercy.

1- It is permissible for the supplicant to ask of his Lord by virtue of the Quran, because that comes under the heading of seeking to draw close to Allah by virtue of one of His attributes. 2- The most correct scholarly view is that it is prohibited to seek to draw close to Allah and ask of Him (Tawassul) by virtue of the Prophet. 3- Seeking to draw close to Allah by virtue of created beings comes under the heading of reprehensible innovation, and is objectionable according to what is commonly known among people and on the basis of the wording itself. 4- Seeking to draw close to Allah by virtue of the trumpet blast, and the progeny of Nuh, and the caliphate of As-Siddiq, and the courage of ‘Ali, and so on – is something that came about as a result of the supplicant’s attempt to be poetic and make things rhyme [in Arabic], without thinking about the meaning.

1- You say Subhan Allah 33 times, Al-hamdu Lillah 33 times, Allahu akbar 33 times, and you may complete 100 by saying La ilaha ill-Allah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahu’l-mulk wa lahu’l-hamd wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay-in qadir. 2- You can say Subhan Allah 33 times, Al-hamdu Lillah 33 times, and Allahu akbar 34 times, so the total will be 100. 3- You can say Subhan Allah 25 times, Al-hamdu Lillah 25 times, Allahu akbar 25 times, and La ilaha illa Allah 25 times, so the total will be 100. 4- You can Subhan Allah 10 times, Al-hamdu Lillah 10 times, and Allahu akbar 10 times.

There is nothing wrong with you making Du`a for a Christian doctor by saying: May Allah bless you, may Allah honour you – intending thereby to ask Allah to bless her and honour her with Islam.

• Allah has instructed the believers not to enter houses other than their own until they have sought permission before entering. • A Muslim man has the right to enter his house even without seeking permission to enter. • Part of perfect etiquette and kind treatment is for a man to seek permission even before entering the room where his wife is, lest he see her in a dishevelled state, or wearing scruffy clothes for doing housework, or similar scenarios in which she would not like him to see her. • If there is another of his Mahrams in his house apart from his wife, such as his mother, his daughter or his sister, then the correct scholarly view is that he should seek permission before entering.
