Virtues of Quran
Reward for Memorising Quran
Whoever memorises the Quran and acts upon it, Allah will reward him abundantly and honour him greatly. He will rise in status in Paradise to a level commensurate with what he memorised of the Quran.174,416Can repeating a certain portion of the Quran for a time equivalent to completing the entire Quran be regarded as a khatm?
Repeating a specific portion of what you have memorised for a time equivalent to the time that it takes to complete the entire Quran is not regarded as a khatm, but it will bring the virtue and reward for reciting the Quran as much as is recited. Reciting the Quran at a speed that is inappropriate is not allowed.1,520If a woman dies during Hajj, is she a martyr?

18,820He memorised the Qur’an and forgot some verses of it; will he attain the reward of the one who memorised the Qur’an?
3,851Could the religious texts which say that the parents of the one who memorises the Qur’an will be given a crown of dignity to wear include his grandfather too?
8,838Sleeper holding the Mushaf to ward off insomnia
Holding the Mushaf to one’s chest in order to ward off harmful ones body and soul is the same as wearing an amulet containing verses of the Qur’an. There is a considerable difference of opinion among the scholars as to whether that is permissible. According to the view that amulets are not permissible, even if they contain words from the Qur’an and adhkaar, which is the view favoured on this website, then what appears to be the case is that this action – which is holding the Mushaf to your chest when wanting to sleep – is not permissible.4,821Recitation of Soorat al-Baqarah and the qareen

8,475Virtues of Surah Taha
Two hadiths have been reported form Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the virtues and benefits of Surah Taha. However, there are many weak hadiths about the virtues of the Surah. For more, please see the detailed answer.123,849
