He stole money and gave it to his father

Question: 8872

A
boy stole some money, and gave it to his father. Then his father died and
did not leave anything behind. Does the son have to pay it back once he
reaches the age of puberty?

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.

Yes, he has to pay it back. And Allaah knows best.
