Should beggars be banned in the mosques?

Question: 46241

Some beggars ask from people in the mosques, and some imams ban them from begging. Do they have any evidence for banning them, and is it permissible to give to them?.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the Messenger of Allah and his family.

I do not know of anything wrong with that, and I do not know of any evidence for those who ban them, but if the beggars step over people’s necks and walk between the rows, then they should be stopped from doing that, because by doing that they are disturbing the worshippers. Similarly at the time of the Friday khutbah, they should be prevented because it is obligatory for them and other worshippers to listen attentively and because their begging at this time will distract others from listening to the khutbah.
