There is nothing wrong with that, and it is acceptable in sha Allah. But paying it in the place where you are is better, and if you were to give it in the place where you are staying to some of the poor people there, that is more appropriate. But if you sent it to your family to give it to the poor, there is nothing wrong with that. End quote.

I sent my zakaat al-fitr to my family so that they could pay it in my country. Is this correct?
