Building mosques from zakah funds

Question: 13734

Is it permissible to build mosques and schools from zakah funds?

Answer

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. To proceed:

That is not permissible, because the action mentioned is not included in the eight categories on which zakah may be spent.
