7,606Can We Say that a Person Has Wronged His Lord?
What is commonly said by some people, that it is possible for a person to wrong his Lord and to wrong himself and to wrong others is not correct. Rather the correct thing is to say that the person did wrong with regard to his relationship with his Lord.6,173What is the ruling on saying “Jesus!” when one is astonished or amazed or startled, as the Christians do?
It is not permissible for a Muslim to say “Jesus!” when he is astonished or amazed or startled, as the Christians do, because what they mean when they say it is “Oh my God!”, because they believe that Jesus (‘Eesa – peace be upon him) is God, but Jesus is not God; rather he is the slave and Messenger of Allah. Whoever believes that ‘Eesa is in any way divine is a disbeliever.49,413Ruling on describing oneself or someone else as deserving something
8,964Is it permissible to say “a perfectly formed baby” or “a baby with physical defects”?
4,507Some people say as a threat, “I am going to think of you as if Allah never created you”
The Muslim should avoid using this phrase, “I am going to think of you as if Allah never created you”, because the literal meaning is not sound or appropriate. It is not permissible for the Muslim to come to something that Allah (may He be exalted) has created and think of it as if it was never created, because it is not appropriate to think of something that exists as being non-existent. The Muslim is enjoined to guard his tongue and avoid ambiguous phrases that could be misinterpreted, especially phrases that refer to Allah (may He be exalted) or His Prophets or His religion. This phrase also constitutes tyranny and transgression, and boasting of one’s strength, which is not a praiseworthy action.7,573A comment on the phrase “Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) is not mentioned at times of hardship but ease will be granted”
